WHY IS THERE A NEED FOR MENTAL HOUSING FACILITIES?

The statistics show the cycle that continues to  perpetuate the problem.

How Do We Break The Cycle?

1 IN 5 PEOPLE

suffer from mental illness;

approximately

Americans every day.

MORE THAN 1/2

of all prison & jail inmates
have a
mental health problem.

UP TO 2/3

OF HOMELESS ADULTS

suffer from chronic alcoholism, drug addiction, mental illness or a combination of all three.

63% OF ADULTS

know someone with a mental health problem.

ONE SOLUTION

So How Do We Break The Cycle?

Although still costly, housing one person in one of our facilities is a fraction of the cost of institutionalization or incarceration, and the outcome is exponentially better for all involved.

MAKING A CHANGE

Options Foundation actively participates in keeping these numbers down and exists for the sole purpose of helping our community.

The way we do that is by providing a safe and controlled housing environment for these mentally ill individuals, giving them a better quality of life and providing them with an opportunity to thrive in our community.

Many of these individuals have been abandoned by their families and have no accountability in their recoveries. Without accountability, they get involved in crime, alcoholism and drug addiction, ending up misguided and homeless, feeding their addictions. When incarceration is the next “solution,” you can understand why the problems are never resolved and the cycle starts again.

Mental Health is a Bigger Issue Than Some People Realize.

…And it Is Not Going to Go Away On Its Own.

Options Foundation’s goal is to change these statistics, and we will continue to work hard to do just that. If you would like to help Options Foundation reach their goal, please click here.
